Vanguard

I'm watching this show Vanguard [investigative journalism] and this episode is called "Missionaries of Hate"..
It's about the Christian church in Uganda and the Ugandan homosexuals that are being persecuted by them. The church is trying to pass a law (not sure if they have succeeded yet) that will make it so that the charge for being gay is...death. Stuff like this gets me flustered. Homosexuality isn't a crime, it's brokenness.
If this is justice, we should all be put to death.
You can't kill and persecute in the name of Jesus. It's not our right. The extensive judgment that is being put on people by the churches in Uganda makes me a little sick. It's ignorant mindsets like this that turn people away from Christianity as a whole. This is where we get the name hypocrite.
One gay Ugandan that was willing to be on camera talked about how his whole town knows he's gay because of so much gossip and discrimination. It showed him sitting in a church, alone, praying for things to be different. He's gay, so he is vile and shouldn't be treated as a human, according to the Ugandan church. Yet here he is...sitting having genuine time with God wondering why things are the way they are in his country. It broke my heart seeing him because he is looked down on to such a degree that people think he should be killed. But he is one of the nicest people that the journalist encounters in the episode.
Sigh.

Probably the funniest thing I've seen on tv in a while.

Okay so you guys need to watch this video. It's a show called Prank Tactics and it was featured on VH1's "40 Greatest Pranks 2" so... it's hilarious. This girl, thinking she is just going to volunteer to answer phones at a hospital, is getting a massive prank pulled on her. Click the link.

Here comes a not happy post.

So I went to a new diabetes doctor a few weeks ago and long story short I've been using a really out-dated type of insulin that's made it really hard for me to stay healthy. Turns out my old doctor at the Stoneypoint offices didn't really care to tell me or help me. All my visits with her were just kind of "you're not doing well" and that was that. She was a cold woman and acted like I was just another appointment that she had to get through before getting to go home. Nice, huh? So I switched to St. Mary's and have a new doctor (who actually isn't new because I had her a long time ago) but she is really sweet and doesn't intimidate me. She genuinely wants to help me so I'm switching my type of insulin to something else and even though it will work better with my body, it brings out a whole basket of issues for the meantime.
Since I'm starting on a new insulin type, my doses right now are pretty much "experimental" and we haven't figured out the right dose yet. I'm constantly having to check my blood sugar, count carbs, etc. It all pretty much sucks. And my doctor would rather start at a lower dose and have high blood sugars than risk a higher dose with low blood sugars so I've been pretty sick this past week ever since I started. My blood sugars are constantly high because we're still trying to figure out how much insulin I need and it makes me feel really sick. It leaves me feeling super fatigued all the time and there's been a few instances when I thought I was going to throw up. Not to mention high blood sugars pretty much put you on constant edge with all your emotions in turmoil. I've been really irritable and sensitive and I want to cry pretty much anytime one of my parents yell at me or just sitting and thinking about the fact that I feel like I'm never going to be "healthy" ...atleast not for a bit. Anyways, sorry guys that this is super long but I just felt like explaining what has been going on with me this week and I apologize ahead of time if I seem mean or snap at any of you. Please just pray for me and I'll keep you guys updated.

La classe de français

So one of the girls in my french class is having a french exchange student, Gabby, stay with her. She was funny. Today in class the teacher stepped out of the room while we were taking a quiz and Gabby started looking over one of the students quizzes and was telling her all the french mistakes and was like "just correct it! the teacher isn't in here!" Anyways, we had filmed some skits from Le Petit Prince and we watched them today. Gabby said she couldn't even understand what we were saying because our accents were so bad and she said it sounded like we were speaking English hahaha. f.a.i.l.
We really aren't that bad....it's just that when you're focusing so hard on your lines you're really not thinking about putting in effort for a good accent. Oh well. I'm out of school! Don't have to take any exams! :D

I have a problem

I never finish books! Unless they're for school, but that's no fun. So this summer I am determined to finish. . .

- Redeeming Love (yes Heather...still working on it)
- Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
- Just Courage
- The Horse and His Boy
- The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (sooo close to the end)

I know there's more...sitting there on my bookshelf, hanging out with some dust maybe.
Read some good books this summer while you have time! If you like reading, that is. Any suggestions are welcome of course :) but you can probably see that the chances of me actually reading your suggested book are slim to none with this sort of list hanging over my head.
Anyways, last day of school tomorrow then taking work off Tuesday so I can take my exam. Summer! You are so near! Have a great week everyone.

Man of many words

My mile could not

Pump the plumb

In my arbor 'till my ardor

Trumped every inner inertia

Lump sum

Dear odd neighbors,

Mr. - You spend more time working on your lawn than you do inside your house, or with your family for that matter. I think it's funny that you ride your scooter down the street because everytime I see you I think you're a 12 year old..
ps. - you creep me out. stop staring.

Mrs. - You love your dog more than you love your kids. Anytime I'm outside and you're talking in that sweet-heart voice, I know you're talking to the dog. You have full length conversations. And you see that I'm outside observing it. Don't you feel awkward?

Girls - Please, please don't SCREAM cuss words at each other in the backyard. You're in middle school, it's uncalled for. And everyone can hear you.

I love my neighborhood.

Does anyone need/want orange and/or red fabric dye? I'm up to my knees in it.

A short escape from cleaning. . .

The mess in my room is one of those that never really ends. So I felt like posting some pictures I took last week when it started to rain really hard. Connor and I decided go play in it.
I think for the Seek art auction I want to take one or two of my pictures to kinkos and get them blown up/look nice but I don't know which ones! What do people like pictures of...
