box from France

I love when my parents actually understand me, my likes, and my style. Because I don't feel like that happens very often. My dad works with this lady that goes to France pretty often because her daughter lives there and she always brings back stuff for my family like Belgian chocolates. So she recently went and like always, got some chocolates to give my dad. When my dad got home from work he showed me the box they came in and said he thought I'd like it because it was cute and had French written on it. And said I could put my paint brushes in it. Score one for you dad. It's frickin adorable.

It's time

I came to the realization today that I don't want to spend my college years anywhere except McGill University in Montreal. I still plan on taking a year off once senior year is over, but if I really am going to make this happen...I have to start getting SO serious about school, figuring out scholarships, french, figuring out scholarships, saving money, getting grants, loans, figuring out scholarships...oh yeah, and figuring out scholarships. I am the wwwooorrsttt person at sticking to something and committing. I just have a really hard time doing it. I give up easily and I don't know why. But I really want this. So friends, please pray that I can stay focused on what I need to do! It's going to take a miracle. Seriously. Au revoir de maintenant.

So I was having a dream about skipping class this morning. Then I woke up really wanting to skip class. I looked at the clock and realized it was 3 minutes before I was supposed to leave for JT. Convenient, aye? *snore* *ZZzzzz*

Music and movies for your liking.

Recent movies I've seen that I thoroughly enjoyed:
1. An Education. I watched this with Kelly and Stephanie. They both really liked it, and then later that night I saw Lindsay and she informed me that she had seen it and loved it as well :) 60's...England...adorable clothes...Oxford...entertaining plot...nuff said.
2. Easy Virtue. I watched this last night but didn't quite catch everything due to the distraction of texting, so I'm watching it for a second time today. I liked it though. It's set it England too, but the early 1900's. It has Ben Barnes (prince caspian yum), Jessica Biel, and Colin Firth (who I love as an actor).

Music:: Birdie Busch. it's folk. Check this stuff out! <3

I love this picture.

On another note...
My mouth is still a little sensitive from getting my wisdom teeth out and it's sort of making my left ear feel achy. Bleh. I'm a little bummed that there was such beautiful weather this weekend and I had to spend a couple days lying inside on the couch.
Friday was surgery. This was me...
Hahaha eyes glazed over and such.
Connor and Tati came over to visit me and brought Starbucks coffee ice cream and superhero ice pops. Much appreciated :) Saturday night Lauren came over and then Michael picked us up and took us to Whole Foods to get some vegi general tso and this pumpkin dessert thing that was called "whoopie ass" (no clue...) I was still pretty swollen but I didn't really care because I wanted to get out of the house hehe. Then we went back to my house and watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Sunday...chilled. Monday...chilled during the day then got the seniors to come hang at Brusters then had a few adventures with Kelly. It went like this: "Deer!!" "Those were fake Elsbeth..." "Noo! They had the deer in the headlights look!" *turns car around* ...*deer running across the road* pretty sure those are real Kelly ;)

Challenged by Oswald

I was reading My Utmost for His Highest last night and I came across something that really challenged me, but I liked it. Here's an excerpt:
"Many of us are faithful to our ideas about Jesus Christ, but how many of us are faithful to Jesus Himself? Faithfulness to Jesus means that I must step out even when and where I can't see anything (see Matthew 14:29). But faithfulness to my own ideas means that I first clear the way mentally. Faith, however, is not intellectual understanding; faith is a deliberate commitment to the Person of Jesus Christ, even when I can't see the way ahead."

I really do believe that we're called to step out where the path is dark and live by faith rather than by sight. It's challenging because as humans, we're worry warts and control freaks. That being said...we're also a New Creation. It all depends on which life you want to identify with I suppose.
Anyhoo, anyone who saw the Ember Days and enjoyed them should go to www.comeandlive.com and download their new EP for free! It's so good! There's a lot of instrumental but they also do a cover of "It is Well." Janell has such a pretty voice.
