Holocene
...And at once I knew, I was not magnificent;
high above the highway aisle
{jagged, vacance, thick with ice}
I could see for miles, miles, miles.

sensation observation
Sometimes it feels like the air has a mind of its own and its circling around sticking tiny invisible needles into my leg but then I remember that I've been sitting here too long looking at narwhals and listening to Bon Iver. So I move my leg around in hopes that everything will be okay and I'm sure it will be but maybe the air sticks needles in your leg to remind you that you're lazy and the whole process hurts but the air only has your best interest in mind.

Simply adorable!
I'm starting to fall in love with this store called Ruche. We don't have one here in RVA, unfortunately, but it's fun to look around at their online store and I might even be ordering a couple things for my birthday :)
These shoes are lovely
and they're not very expensive! They also put out new look books every now and then, which always manage to be beautifully whimsical. I love the filter they use for their photography and I'm also super inspired by their makeup/hair choices. Gah! Gives me so many ideas for a 30's/40's flair.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Yum
Honey, vanilla, and cinnamon french toast.
No one is ever here in the morning to share it with me,
but it's still nice to sit at the table with a cup of coffee
and my favorite pandora playlist.

Long weekend in Kinnakeet
What a lovely weekend :) Went down to Cape Hatteras Thursday night with my family to stay with my aunt and uncle at a house they had rented. The sound was literally in the backyard so there was a little dock that my aunt and sister would fish off of and I got to go kayaking for the first time! We rode cruisers around the neighborhood {which is where I found that snooky street sign and the
orange van that happened to look exactly like the Comrades touring van named Pony hehe} I saw the most famous lighthouse in America {for the second time}, hit up the beach, and played with my aunt's dog Bailey, which I called Christian Bailey :p Definitely a nice break from RVA.

I believe if you are living with a bitter heart, a heart that will drown you to the deepest pit in the ocean because you attached stone after stone to it, you will only find death. If you want to live, do not hold onto bitterness. Of all things that are worth getting caught up in, that is not one of them.

"We are to be re-made. All the rabbit in us is to disappear---the worried, conscientious, ethical rabbit as well as the cowardly and sensual rabbit. We shall bleed and squeal as the handfuls of fur come out; and then, surprisingly, we shall find underneath it all a thing we have never yet imagined: a real Man, an ageless god, a son of God, strong, radiant, wise, beautiful, and drenched in joy."
